14 AI Features and Third-Party AI Processing
FinAmplio offers optional AI-powered features including, but not limited to, the AI Assistant and the Daily Money Lens report. These features are powered by Perplexity AI (Perplexity Inc., San Francisco, CA, USA — perplexity.ai).
14.1 What data is sent
When you use an AI feature, the following financial data from your FinAmplio profile is transmitted to Perplexity AI to generate your personalised report:
- Net worth data: savings, investments, pension, property value, physical assets, mortgage balance, and loans
- Income details: gross yearly income, income growth assumptions, and savings rate
- Return rate assumptions for savings, investments, pension, and property
- Tax rate information
- Monthly expense categories and estimated values
- Behavioural finance scores: risk tolerance, financial literacy, overconfidence, and delay of gratification
- Financial fitness score
- Free-text descriptions of your savings and investments (if provided)
- For the AI Assistant: the natural language question you typed
14.2 What data is not sent
Your name, email address, and any other directly identifying information are never collected or sent. Your data is associated only with an anonymous, randomly generated device identifier (UUID).
14.3 When data is sent
Data is only transmitted when you actively navigate to an AI feature. The app will ask for your explicit consent before any data is sent for the first time. You may withdraw this consent at any time via the Settings page, which will disable AI features.
14.4 How Perplexity AI uses your data
Your data is used solely to generate the report or response shown to you. Under Perplexity's API Terms of Service (section 2.3.3), Perplexity is explicitly prohibited from using API customer data to train, retrain, fine-tune, or otherwise improve any AI models. Your financial data is not used for AI model training.
Perplexity AI's own privacy practices are described in their Privacy Policy at perplexity.ai/hub/legal/privacy-policy. Perplexity provides equivalent or greater data protection standards consistent with this policy.
14.5 International transfers
Because Perplexity Inc. is based in the United States, transmitting data to their API constitutes a transfer of personal data outside the United Kingdom and European Economic Area. This transfer is governed by appropriate safeguards including standard contractual clauses.
14.6 Withdrawing consent
You can disable AI features and stop future data sharing with Perplexity AI at any time by going to Settings → AI Features & Data Sharing in the app and toggling the feature off. Disabling this setting will prevent any further data being sent; it does not affect data already processed.
FinAmplio website is owned by FinAmplio Ltd. 15135697 which is a data controller of your personal data.
